#04 Minolta SRT101 Hanging Mirror
Просмотров 10 тыс.2 года назад
I fix a hanging mirror on a Minolta SRT101 using a drop of oil. It's a nice mechanical 35mm camera I pickup up from Goodwill this week, the first camera I have found at Goodwill since I started looking. This is a quick video and the camera is not 100% ready to be used, in the future I will replace the light seals since the foam has disintegrated into dust. There is no rush to get this camera tr...
#03 Nikon One Touch L35AF2 | Part1
Просмотров 4,6 тыс.2 года назад
I start repairing a Nikon One Touch L35AF2 that does not power on. The film counter is stuck and the shutter button does not depress. In this video I get the casing off and start poking around. This originally was going to be about 45 minutes but my camcorder or SD card decided to loose the files. In part 2 which will start filming this weekend I will power it using an external power supply and...
#02 Pentax K1000 Light Seal Replacement
Просмотров 4,5 тыс.2 года назад
I replace the light seals on a Pentax K1000. After much struggling with old foam removal (it turns into goo) and the new foam sticking where it should not but not where it should I have a usable camera. Next up is to check the shutter speeds are close to what the dial says and then finally run a roll of film through it. Not a sponsor or affiliation but FYI: You can pick up light seal kits from ...

Maybe when I reach double digits I will get better. Listening to the audio I realize I need to work on my radio voice. A cheat is to just run a tooth pick down the film light seals, then use black 100% cotton yarn instead of those over priced pre cut light seals and for the mirror light seal you can use felt with a adhesive backing. when I did my Pentax Super Program and If I remember right it was 1mm wide and 30-40mm long for the mirror light seal.

    The film counter is jammed. Look over the counter and see where it is sticking. If you can get it back to zero or at the next number where you can fully depress the shutter button the camera should work.

    I believe the flash on one of these cameras will only Power up if you pop the flash up put on a camera that's working properly. This is a fully automatic flash so it won't pop up if there's a lot of light but you can trick it by covering the lens and half pressing the shutter when does long as the flash popped up it should fire.

    • @Batou_73
      @Batou_73 Год назад

      No it wont. Because behind the mirror is the actual shutter window wich is blocked by a curtain. The mirror makes way for the light hitting the film but the curtain is the final barrier. So as long as the curtain is operating normally your film won´t be ruined.

    I had the same problem and watching this video made me frustrated because you where touching everything except for the part that controls the shutter button. If you go a little more down from where the button is, there is a switch that is locked. You have to press it down and the camera will reset itself.

    • @sdp8483
      @sdp8483 2 года назад

      I am not sure what button you are talking about. On the front of the camera vertically down from the shutter button is the self timer that rotates but that does not reset the camera. On the bottom of the camera is the slider and button for the film rewind which also does nothing to make this camera work.
